A new device has been unveiled by EchoStar, the device tagged EchoStar HDX-410 is an Android powered set-top box, that has a 5000DMIPS with dual core application processor, complemented by 4GB NAND Flash, 1 GB SDRAM. This device is an addition of the new hybrid DVD and IP solution. The EchoStar HDX-410 is manufactured to deliver and receive EDB and IP content and services around homes.
This device is compatible with networking and can be used as a multi-room solution. The EchoStar HDX-410 supports both on-demand and broadcast TV with smart TV applications. It also gives you digital rights management and Miller solutions to shield content and it meets the requirement of the European energy efficiency requirements with its low power consumption.
The EchoStar HDX-410 make use of industry-standard protocol and capable of interacting with other devices in the home to enable TV operation to further services from a central gateway to other display systems connected to the home network. The connectivity option on the EchoStar HDX-410 includes; HDMI, integrated Wi-Fi with 802.11n support, Ethernet, USB 2.0, and S/PDIF for audio output.
The EchoStar HDX-410 box supports MPEG-2, MPEG-4, VC-1, and VP8 formats and it runs on Android 4.0 OS with Adobe flash support. It possesses an integrated WebKit browser. Presently there is no carrier cable or satellite company for the EchoStar HDX-410. EchoStar says users will be able to pause, record, and rewind live TV with a simple hard drive upgrade. It seems there is no internal hard drive in the device.
