Motorola in Court against Apple in the ITC

The International Trade Commission (ITC) has received a Motorola complaint against Apple on infringmentation of seven Motorola’s patent in its products. The patent Motorola refers to involves features, like email notification, reminders, and phone/video players.

Motorola claimed that it has tried to license the patents to Apple, but Apple had rejected the offer. This left Motorola “little choice but to defend ourselves and our engineers’ innovations”. What Motorola is now is an importation of ban on the iPad, iPhone and the Mac computers.

Motorola had sued Apple before when it had not been acquired by Google, but now it seems the force is going to be doubled, as Google will be firing against Apple. This goes directly against Google’s previous stance of not using patents offensively.

It was revealed before; that the main reason Google acquired Motorola Mobility is because of its wealth of patent it had stored. It’s going to be very interesting to see Google striking its first missile at the jury with Apple.
