Security Measures I Use for My Coupon Blog

When computing and blogging are concerned, security comes in. In the early times of computing and internet the rate at which people are required to be concerned about the security of their computers could not be compared to how seriously people uphold the importance of security in computing these days.

As a blogger, I’ve made the security of my coupon blog where I feature weight watchers discounts and diet to go coupons an optimal issue. This is not just because I don’t want to lose my coupon blog to hackers it is also because I dislike the practice of hacking on the negative side of it. I want to share some security measures I use for my coupon blog with you in this blog post and I also hope you’ll embrace the methods I will share in this blog post.

Captcha Plugin

There are always plugins on the internet, especially on the WordPress platform, for virtually anything you could think of. This is one of the many benefits of WordPress. As a measure against attackers, I have installed a captcha plugin on my coupon blog. What is the benefit of this plugin and how does it secure a blog?

The benefit of the captcha plugin is that it blocks any form of automated login on a page. That is, if a bot tries to login to a captcha protected page, it would be required to take some exercise only human could take and thus be prevented from login in.

If you have a captcha on your blog, like I have it on my weight watchers discounts and diet to go coupon blog, it will reduce the likelihood of your blog getting hacked.

Alphanumeric Passwords

Alphanumeric passwords could be created by combining letters and figures to make up a password. When choosing passwords many bloggers tend to put very little to no importance to the strength of the passwords they make use of. When I was choosing a password for my coupon blog, I had to use a password that contained figures, symbols and letters. This way I was sure it would be difficult for one hacker to guess my password.

What is the strength of your password? Are they just some simple “michael” or “jesusislord”? If your password is too generic, you should try to strengthen it to make your blog safer.

Regularly Updated Antivirus

It is very important that you have an antivirus software on your computer, at least if you are after the safety of anything you hold important. Your antivirus program should also be updated regularly. Updating your antivirus software regularly is going to strengthen it against viruses.

I do make sure my antivirus program is regularly updated. This way I’m assured that it would be able to withstand the threat of viruses and spywares at any given situation.

Conclusion:

What security measures do you use for your blog? How strong is the security of your blog? If you have new ideas or security measures, please share them with us.
